City Dog is home to San Diego’s unique, state-of-the-art dog wash stations, designed to make bathing your dog as easy as a day at the beach. Take the hassle out of bathing your dog in your tub. Our dog-washing stations are gleaming clean (disinfected after each client) and offer the widest selection of gentle shampoos and conditioners, grooming brushes, ear cleanser, coat polish and drying station – all starting at just $12.00.
We carry hypoallergenic, flea & tick control and coat-brightening cleansing products too! Best of all, our water temperature is controlled to a safe 80 degrees, so your dog can enjoy a warm, relaxing bath.
Full-Service Dog Grooming
Steven Land comes to City Dog with 12 years grooming experience. Steven began working with dogs at the age of 11 by showing and grooming his Aunt’s Australian Shepherds. He competed in junior handling for several years and was the 2nd male to win Best Junior Handler of the year. At age 13, he started working with professional handlers and groomers where he traveled the country grooming and showing. He worked with several handlers and learned how to groom all different breeds according to recognized grooming standards. He has conducted seminars for youths on junior competing and also held classes where he gave instruction in beginner obedience. Steven has worked in both small independent shops and large chain stores. Most recently he worked for a major pet store chain for 3 years where he was on the team that ran the grooming schools in both Los Angeles and San Diego Counties. He has 3 cats Conchita, Cabezon and Taquito all rescues from Mexico, and he fosters kittens for the Humane Society.
Having your dog’s teeth professionally cleaned doesn’t just give him fresh breath and a nice smile, it also removes bacteria from his mouth that can lead to heart disease.
We are proud to offer Canine Care, Inc., which provides 100-percent anesthesia-free teeth cleaning for dogs (cats too!), available the first Saturday and third Sunday of every month, right here at City Dog.

Still not enough pampering for your pup? Join us on a Tuesday and treat your dog to a relaxing and pain-free pet-icure by Tess. There's no clipping! Instead Tess uses a light Lavender T Touch massage to help relax your pet and the use of a Dremmel tool (insted of clippers) to file the nail back. For the final touch, hand filing is used to give a smooth polished finish. Nails are left shorter with no rough edges to scratch or damage.
